Many shootings in recent memory have occurred in schools, theaters, and other places where firearms are only carried by police. These places paint themselves as targets and prevent law abiding citizens from protecting themselves. Those who have received the necessary training for holding a permit should be allowed to carry a small arm for protection as is allowed in the Virginia Statehouse in Richmond.
